What are Battles?[]

Battle

Battles are the PvP combat of Golem Overlord. The battle icon brings up the leaderboard page which is where you battle other Golemancers. At this time, battling is one-sided where you pick targets and attack other players.

The current PvP battle sequence looks like this:

  • Find a Target: Pick an opponent from the leaderboard
  • Spend 1 Energy to attempt an attack.
  • RNG (Random Number Generator) will determine whether you win or lose.
  • RNG will also determine how much $PART you loot (or lose!).

Leaderboard[]

Click the Battle icon from the top of the Action Menu to access the Leaderboard and Battle modals.

Unfiltered Leaderboard[]

When you first see the leaderboard, this is what it looks like before any filtering. If you plan to battle, you will want to filter this page to find optimal targets to attack.

Filtered Leaderboard[]

This is an example of the leaderboard after filtering for players with 250 fortification or less, with the default sorting by rank. You are presented with a lot of information, and understanding what everything means will be critical in determining your best targets.

Information on the User Row[]

Every row in the Battle modal contains information about another user. You can safely click into them without triggering a battle (a Hive Engine transaction needs to be signed to initiate any battle).

The information for each user on the leaderboard includes the following (from left to right):

  • Avatar
  • Rank
  • Module
  • Guild Icon
  • Hive Username
  • Title
  • Prestige (the stars)
  • Leaderboard Bonus Multiplier
  • Rating (total parts burned)
  • Stash
  • Next Claim
  • Power Stat
  • Fortification Stat
  • Faith Stat
  • Approximate Part and Shard won on successful attack (players can get more information with the use of Nano Tonics)
  • Battle Axe: colors and pop-up indicate win percentage range (players can get more information on win chance with the use of Nano Tonics)
  • Shield (alternate): if a player has recently been attacked, they are protected and have a shield indicating they cannot be attacked for a specified time.

Finding a Target[]

To find a target to attack, it is recommended to search for a range of stats. In the example below, the leaderboard is filtered by players with 200 or less fortification and sorted by stash size.

Attacking[]

After filtering sorting the leaderboard, you can click on the target you want to attack. In this example I've selected a player with a light green battle axe indicating a 80-100% chance to win approximately 147.42 PART and 1.60 SHARD.

After clicking on the player, the battle window appears and shows various player information and statistics .

Attack Panel Information[]

Attack Mechanics Explained[]

  • Win percentage is based upon your power stat compared with your target's fortification stat.
  • Steal range is determined by:
    • Your faith compared to your target's faith stat.
    • Your target's total stash size
    • Any attack penalty
    • Impacts from active Events

Attack Results[]

After selecting the attack button and confirming the transaction, the battle will take place and the results will populate as in the example below.

The results of attacks are also displayed in the Action Log.

Attack Penalty[]

If you target players that are well below your game Rating (which is derived from how much $PART you've burned and staked over your lifetime), you will suffer an Attack Penalty proportionate to the difference between you and the target.

Attack penalties only come into play once you've reached a Rating of 100.

Terror[]

If a player is way stronger than you, your golems will be too terrified and you cannot attack. Battle-terror

Battle Energy[]

Energy

Your total battle energy is indicated by this icon. You can see it in various places such as the player panel and attack screen.

Battle Energy determines how often you can fight and refills at a rate dependent on your Level. Your maximum battle energy is dependent on your power and fortification stats. There are also some module stats that modify battle energy stats.

It is fair to assume that Energy may be required for future game elements (e.g. Expeditions, Boss battles, etc.).

Here is a screenshot of the pop-up information that appears if you hover over the battle energy icon.
